I was fortunate to have three of my digital collages featured in the 2025 Arts & Culture Symposium opening reception exhibition at Dean College in Franklin, MA. The pop-up was a curated selection of public art and regional works on paper showcasing local and regional talent.
My artworks are assemblages that explore the intersection of handmade and technological processes, often presented in three-dimensional forms. For this exhibition, I created collages using images from my camera and my own mixed media work that I scanned. These digital collages stand alone, but can also serve as a foundation for my other artworks – from the past, present, and in the future. Each digital collage serves as a two- dimensional representation of the different ways I engage with multiple mediums.
When I’m not designing graphic layouts, I engage in various creative pursuits, including bookmaking, printmaking, and mixed-media work. I make my own dyes and paints from foraged flora and homegrown herbs. Additionally, I enjoy working with clay and wax. My primary goal is to cultivate an appreciation and respect for the materials I work with.
The symposium where these works were featured was entitled Creative Economy and the event was attended by artists, creative entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, small business owners, and community members to celebrate how creativity strengthens MetroWest area. It was hosted by The Franklin Cultural District and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
